Expected in return:
Pick grapes Saturday 4 hrs in morning, 4 in afternoon.
The schedule varies slightly from year to year but is generally all
done
in a single weekend. As early as the last weekend of September, as
late as the third weekend in October. Pickers must be flexible with
notice
generally 3-5 days before the harvest weekend.
Our grape trellis is designed for easy picking. The bunches of grapes
are
in a line at around 4 feet off the ground, and generally not obstructed
by
leaves and wires. The picker fills two 5 gallon buckets, then tips them
into a
larger 55 gallon drum placed intermittently along the vineyard rows.
At the end of the day pickers can expect to feel quite thrilled
and
enlightened with a unique perspective and respect knowing what goes
into high quality wine production. Wine never tasted so good !
